Most common questions

How do I arrange my match?

Please contact the other team, either by using the messaging tool in your CGC portal or by contacting them directly via the details listed on their CGC profile, and check that team's availability. Each Team must provide at least 3 possible date options.

What do I do if the other team has not provided details on their CGC profile or I have concerns about their handicaps?

In the first instance please reach out to the other team and make them aware of the issues and ask them to resolve them or provide more details. If the other team is not being responsive or not co-operating please contact CGC support and ask us to step in.

What does the Home team assignment mean?

It means this team is the home team for the match and they decide where the match is played. Teams can play their matches at any course and do not have to be played at home courses.

What do I do if the other team is not responding?

Please attempt contact via the messaging tool or via direct contact with details provided on profile pages. Allow teams at least 48 hours to respond. Opponents' phone numbers are listed on their profiles if they are not responsive via chat - please drop them a text message or call them if they are not responding via chat.

Can teams change players during the tournament?

Yes, teams may add and remove players throughout the tournament.

How do the Handicap Tiers work?

The tiers are based on handicap history

Tier 1: Players with 12 or more rounds recorded in the 12 months prior to the tournament start date (27 April) will compete using 90% of their handicap index.
Tier 2: Players with 3 to 11 rounds recorded in the 12 months prior to the tournament start date (27 April) will compete using 75% of their handicap index.

Note! There will be no additional tournament-adjusted handicap applied and players may move into Tier 1 during the tournament if they meet the requirements.

How do I check another player’s handicap?

What happens if we cannot agree on a date for the match before the round deadline?

If both teams make reasonable efforts but cannot agree on a date within the round deadline, the organiser will conduct a coin toss and the result will be final.

What is the maximum handicap allowed?

28 for both Men & Women. A player with a handicap above 28 may enter but their handicap must be reduced to 28 in their CGC account ahead of any matches.

What are the match dates?

All teams start in the Main Bracket, with losing teams moving to the 2nd Chance Bracket.

Main Bracket:

Round 1: 27 April – 24 May
Round 2: 25 May – 21 June
Round 3: 22 June – 19 July
Round 4: 20 July – 16 August
Round 5: 17 August – 6 September
Round 6: 7 September – 27 September

2nd Chance Bracket:

Round 1: 25 May – 21 June
Round 2: 22 June – 19 July
Round 3: 20 July – 16 August
Round 4: 17 August – 6 September
Round 5: 7 September – 27 September

Rest of World (RoW) Teams:

Group Final: 28 September – 20 October (winner advances to Grand Final)

Regional Finals (UK & Europe only):

Southwest, Celtic Manor: 1 October
Northwest, Worsley Park: 12 October
Midlands, Breadsall Priory: 15 October
Southeast, The Grove: 20 October

Grand Final, Portugal:

Vilamoura, Portugal: 23-26 November
